SPCX price performance as SpaceX pursues $40 billion financing

As Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: SPCX) reportedly targets a $40 billion debt financing to scale up its Artificial Intelligence (AI) compute, SpaceX stock opened on October 7, 2026, with panic selling despite calls for a strong uptrend.

After closing Tuesday trading at approximately $171.92, SPCX traded at about $168.79 during Wednesday’s pre-market session. As a result, SpaceX stock had dropped by $3.13 per share, or roughly 1.82%.

SpaceX stock hit a supply level over the past two days after a perceived renewed bull run, up nearly 15% since October 2. This resistance level was also observed in late June and early July 2026, which resulted in its capitulation over the next months towards an all-time low of around $104.81.

SpaceX solicits $40 billion to scale up its AI data infrastructure

Earlier in the day, SpaceX was reported to be seeking $40 billion to fund an expansive acquisition of Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ: NVDA) AI semiconductors.

The proposed debt facility, which is said to comprise roughly $10 billion in bank loans alongside $30 billion in investment-grade bonds, is expected to be led by Apollo Global Management.

Consequently, SpaceX stock fell as the market reacted to the financial risks and interest burden of a $40 billion debt-financed capital expenditure aimed at boosting long-term AI compute capabilities and revenue.

SPCX price prediction

Wall Street analysts, led by Eric Sheridan at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (NYSE: GS), are bullish on SPCX, as Finbold explained.

As the company addresses the wide difference between its market capitalization of $2.3 trillion and its last year’s revenue of less than $20 billion,33  analysts expect a SpaceX price to rally to a new all-time high (ATH) over the next 12 months.
