Apparently orchestrated from North Korea, the $63 million hack adds grist to the argument that crypto exploits pose a plausible national security risk.
The broader crypto community is calling for a controversial chain rollback in a bid to recover funds.
A recently issued gaming token on layer-2 network Blast has been exploited with $4.6 million stolen, according to an announcement in the token’s Telegram channel.
The controversial layer-2 network had taken $2.3 billion in deposits since November as it prepared for launch, but within 24 hours of going live, that figure had dwindled to $650 million.
Blast, in an X post, termed the project’s potential as “undeniable,” which may have created a sense of security among investors.
Devs for the Blast L2 are accused of stealing open-source code that’s available to all. Is that cheating, or a sincere form of flattery?
