Nigerian authorities have traced $50 million of cryptocurrency sent to support recent protests, local media reported.
The registration was provisionally approved in June, subject to the crypto exchange paying a fine of about $2.2 million.
The Latin American country’s agency had rejected Binance’s previous proposal, made in August 2023, to end an investigation into its derivatives products.
The Venezuelan government has blocked various websites, including the social network X, following allegations of fraud in the July 28 presidential elections.

Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has “challenged” a nearly $86 million tax notice from India’s Directorate General of Goods and Services Tax Intelligence (DGGI), a person directly involved with the matter told CoinDesk.
