Ripple has returned 700 million XRP, worth more than $1.05 billion, to escrow following the company’s latest monthly release of 1 billion XRP on October 1.
According to the XRPSCAN data, the returned XRP was split across two transactions, with 400 million XRP transferred in one transaction and another 300 million XRP moved in a separate one.
As mentioned, the transfers followed Ripple’s established monthly escrow routine, under which the company releases XRP before returning a portion of the tokens to escrow.
The move came just hours after the initial unlock, and it corresponds to Ripple’s historical practice, with similar amounts re-escrowed virtually every month this year.
More than 30% of XRP is still in escrow
Following the new release, XRP’s total circulating supply has reached approximately 68.42 billion, while a total of 31.54 billion XRP, or 31.6% of the total supply, still remains in escrow, per XRPSCAN.

Ripple is, of course, the largest holder, commanding 39.77% of the supply, significantly more than what’s on exchanges such as Binance and Coinbase, which hold 2.74% and 5.83%, respectively.
XRP itself showed little reaction to the latest escrow, with its daily 4% uptick attributed to broader industry moves, particularly Bitcopin (BTC), which also gained 3%.
The muted price action is, however, to be expected. After all, the escrow schedule is by now extremely familiar to the market, so while it does draw some attention, the community tends to view any unlocks as already priced in.
Nonetheless, the release dates are emerging as price prediction timeframes, with some suggesting that XRP could trade significantly higher by the time Ripple has completed its remaining 2026 escrow releases – potentially 20% higher.
